You are correct although it was not the answer I originally had. I got an email from the Reds report. They had Reds Facts. It stated that Sam Crawford had 23 in 1902. After I saw your answer, I checked on it and you were right. :banana: :banana:
I guess the Reds report ought to check with you for accuracy.

Crawford is definately known for hitting three baggers (he hit more than anyone else in history) and the HOF'er could have gone into the HOF as a Red had he not jumped to the AL and the Tigers in 1903.
Reds Facts was probably looking for the post 1900 record.
Speaking of Wahoo Sam Crawford, he certainly felt that baseball players at the turn of the century and the deadball era were better than they are today. He is quoted as saying in 1960 "There is no doubt at all in my mind that the old-time ballplayer was smarter than the modern ballplayer. Now the game is all power, lively balls, and shorter fences."
