That's a very good guess Eric, and I'm sure you're thinking 1968 when McClain won 31 games. 13 of those wins came in day games but that only ties him for 4th on the list with several others.

Gary Peters is not a bad guess, although an incorrect one. The player who holds the record did not pitch for the White Sox. One of the pitchers tied for 2nd played for Chicago. The pitcher who holds the record as well as one of the pitchers tied for 2nd played for the same team.

Both pitchers tied for 2nd are in the HOF but the pitcher who holds the record is not in the HOF.

See, that wasn't so hard. Terry had a 15-5 record in day games for NYY in 1962. Early Wynn in 1959 and Whitey Ford in 1961 won 14 games day games each.
