I had fun going to Boston yesterday with my Trivia Road Show so I thought I'd continue with this little venture. Today we stop in the beautiful state of Colorado to visit with our buddies Durango and RockieBill:
Who is the only Rockie hurler to toss more than one shutout in a single season?

What Rockies player once stole 2nd, 3rd and home in the same inning. Also name the pitcher and catcher who he victimized.

Wow I dont know that one at all. Never knew that even happened. But there are those dark years with my Rockies baseball when I was in the military and I could hardly get any news. But I will see what I can find.

:wave1: I know! I know!
Dale, is he the last NL'er to steal 6 in a game? Or has someone done that since?

I'm almost positive he was the last to steal 6 in a game. He was definately the last to steal 2nd, 3rd and home in the same inning. The AL record is 6 I believe and the Nl is 7, but that was before 1900.

The umpires who called the player safe at each base were Joe West (2B), Jeff Kellogg (3B) and Jerry Layne (home).
And what a crazy game this was overall...10 homers, 12 steals, 31 runs, 38 hits (17 extra bases), 5 errors, 11 pitchers (none pitching scoreless ball), 11 walks.......and it was nothing-nothing after the first inning!

Pitcher and catcher are easy. One of the worst defensice catchers ever, especially at throwing out runners, and a pitcher who took forever to deliver the ball. Nono/Piazza

Willie I would about bet the farm that Eric Young hit the first HR for the Rockies. He could have hit the second also but that I dont know.

Havnt finished the question there huh?
I looked it up and the pitcher was Nomo so the catch would have to be Piazza. (I just saw the pitcher)

I went ahead and gave the answer back on page 1. Everybody ran on Nomo with that slow delivery and a dead man could run on Pizza Boy. Still, 2nd, 3rd and home in the same inning is quite a feat.
Last question: Who is the only Rockie to receive 3 intentional walks in one game?

Andres Galaraga 4-30-93 against the Marlins. I guess the Fish didn't want the Big Cat anywhere near them.:D
I think I'll take the Road Show to Chicago or New York tomorrow.:notme:
