Howdy Tiger fans.:wave1: I have to say, I like this stadium. Looks like a pitchers park to me and coming from an ex-pitcher, it looks like you did good. I loved old Tiger Stadium and I actually made it to a game there in 1996. The place reeked with history. I must have walked around the entire stadium 3 or 4 times. I stood there and imagined Al Kaline gunning a runner out at the plate, Willie Horton parking one in the upper deck and Mark Fidrych talking to the ball on the mound. I loved every minute.

Now, on with the show: Name 2 Tigers who managed to get 7 hits in a single game.

Rocky Colavito I think is one....

I think I know the other but I'll let a Tigers fan try and answer:)

  Rocky did indeed get 7 hits on June 24th 1962. Of course it took 22 innings and 10 AB's.

(not sure you want to wait for a Tigers fan, there doesn't seem to be too many of them around these days :notme: You'll be pleased to know that I'll be in NYC in a day or two with the Road Show.)

OK, here's one for the Tigers fans. If you guys get here after I leave, I'll stash it behind home plate for you.:)

What Tigers hurler once issued 5 intentional walks in a single game?

Bill Gullickson?
Jack Morris?
Dan Petry?

Dale, I agree with you that old Tiger Stadium 'reeked with history' My favorite park still. Last time I was there (July 1999), I made a point to try and step on every brick crossing that street from the bar to the stadium just in case Cobb, Gehringer and Kaline might have stepped on 'em at one time or another.

None of the three. The pitcher in question did it in a relief role.

Hmm, that will make it tougher. Was it like some kind of long (5+ IP) relief role or something like that? Post Bay of Pigs? Also had a teammate who once struck out the side on 9 pitches? Something like that? C'mon man, throw me a bone here :freak:

I'm sorry, I'm not very good at trivia. I do love that you included us in your road show, though I seem to be the only Tigers fan around here lately :( With all the Tigers fans coming out of the wood work this season, I figured we'd be bopping in here :(

Alex Johnson drew 2 of the intentional BB's. How's that for a clue?;)

That's OK Jen, I was in the neighborhood (I stopped in Chicago yesterday to see Ray and Eric) so I thought I'd drop by. Plus, I thought I might sneak a peak at that new 2-piece.;)

Follow up question: What huge event in US political history took place the day before Hiller issued the five IBBs?

"I am not a crook":laff: And the American media really didn't have Tricky Dick to kick around any longer after that infamous date in US history - 08Aug1974.
