Man. That was weird.

Not only was it Benson's first homerun, it was the first homerun by an Orioles pitcher in 34 years! :eek: The last one was hit by the pitcher in 1972 in the last game of the season. The next season, they were an AL team with a DH.

Yikes. We were sitting in an upper deck box, smack dab behind homeplate. You could tell by the sound when he hit it, and we watched that puppy fly. I said, "Are you kidding me?!" as it was flying. I kept looking at Lastings Milledge, knowing you can always tell by what the outfielders are doing. And that thing just kept flying. Couldn't believe it. :(

I swear, if the Orioles weren't playing the Mets, I'd be ecstatic by these wins.

But I was disturbed by the fielding last night, also. Geez. Sparky's on second, the guy is a well-known base thief, and there was nobody covering 2nd base!!! At least the first time. And then there was the bad throw by Pedro.
