Frazier stars in class A all-star game; Sanchez does same in AAA Toledo

The Detroit Tigers minor league system had a good weekend, with one of their youngest prospects in Class A ball winning an All Star MVP award, and one of their top AAA prospects continuing to dominate at that level. Class A first, where according to the Lakeland Ledger, Jeff Frazier led the West to a win in the Florida State League All Star Game with two-run home run, and was named the "Star of Stars", the game's MVP award.
June 18, Lakeland Ledger: Lakeland Tiger Jeff Frazier was named Star of Stars as the West beat the East, 7-4, in the 45th Florida State League AllStar Game at Joker Marchant Stadium on Saturday night.

Frazier thrilled the second largest crowd in FSL All-Star game history -- 5,946 -- with a two-run homer in the sixth, a line-drive onto the berm in left field which somehow made it through a stiff wind.

"The crowd gave me a big hand every time I came up so I was glad to give something back to them," said Frazier.
In Toledo, pitcher Humberto Sanchez moved to 3-0 since being called up to AAA from AA Erie, as he continues to dominate hitters.
June 19, Toledo Blade: Sanchez dominated once again in his third career Triple-A start, allowing just two hits and combining with two relievers to give Toledo a 3-0 win over the Rochester Red Wings before 9,717 at Frontier Field on a steamy Sunday afternoon.

Sanchez didn't give up a run for his second consecutive start, and his ERA dropped to a minuscule 0.47.

"He's been pretty good so far," manager Larry Parrish said. "He's a big guy that has got pretty good stuff. It was a tough day to pitch with the heat and the wind blowing out to left field."

"This guy's going to be good," the Rochester skipper said. "You'll hear from this guy. He has size, and a good angle on his pitches. He almost has a half-like, double-hitch motion in his delivery that will add to his fastball."
