Are there certain websites that you use to get your stat info. I see the trivia questions about the same time you do, but you have them answered before I even get close. You either have a baseball encyclopedia for a brain or know a great website. I would hope it is the brain. I would love to have that much info about the game.

I live about an hour SW of Toy Cannon, close enough for his vast knowledge and wisdom about the game to just waft down my way and enter through a process known as triviosmosis.

There isn't just one site for this stuff. You can probably google 'baseball trivia' and get some answers. But some of the questions Toy poses aren't easily researched, the bastard ;) Being alive better than five decades and having read and researched a ton of baseball over those years, I can make some educated guesses. Otherwise, I'm digging through baseball encyclopedias (on-line and hard copy). Retrosheet.org is an excellent on-line site to go back and find stuff, at least from the past 45+ years or so. Baseball-Reference.com (make sure and check out Pussy Tebeau's page :D) is another great site. Many teams have excellent fan-operated sites with a lot of history.

Like Willie, I have a ton of books and am constantly reading, both online material and books at home. My reading is what generally leads to a trivia question. I'll be reading about an event or someone baseball related and that will lead me to another area and I'll say to myself "hmmm...I wonder how many players have done that" or "damn, that took me over an hour to find and I knew where to look, I wonder how how many hours it will take Willie":D

Reading turns over leaves and rocks under which lie an incredible treasure of trivial knowledge. You never know what you're going to find. While this is true in all aspects of life, no where is it more evident than in baseball. I truly feel sorry for those who have never discovered it's hidden beauty.
