thats the only way to describe a sweep loss to KC
every time they get a good streak they seem to self destruct
hats off to the new worst team in MLB for the moment!!
hopefully this will turn around finally!

I honestly do not understand why they have such problems. They have a good core group of players. Obviously with the new coaching staff, you would expect some good. I expected this team to have a relatively decent season, dare I say, a .500 season
What really is the problem? Is it starting pitching? They have offense, right? Their pen seems to be okay.

part of it is attitude
which comes from the top GM and up
they buy renta vets at ridiculous prices instead of using better younger, cheaper players
Randa instead of Sanchez,Burnitz instead of Wilson or Bautista
the pitchers are not used correctly
starters are pulled when well ahead in games
the bullpen is overused
they seem to have mental lapses
they start playing good and then slump
Tracy seems to vent publically more, and seems to favor vets over younger players
i agree with you Yagsy they should be much better

I keep thinking they should be better as well, but when I look back, I realize this is the same team as last year with couple additions and less experienced staff. I doubt they can afford to get rid of everyone and start over, but look for Wells, Craig Wilson, Sean Casey and anyone else whose contract is up a the end of the year to be traded soon. I do not agree that pitchers are being used improperly. They give up an early lead and when that happens you get lifted in the 7th or 8th for a pinch hitter. Plus, when they have been left in they fail in the late innings. I will agree that they are still making bad mistakes and not getting the big hits. That has not changed and I can not blame a new manager for that. Voglesong was sent downb and that is a start. Perez should be next. Package Casey, Wells and Craig Wilson for young talent that can play fundemental ball. There are too many glaring weknesses to be addressed by one trade though. It looks like we are still a long ways away. Keep Sanchez, Bay, Paulino and Castillo. Maybe keep Jack Wilson, but I would say even he could be had if the price was right at this point.
