At most games I go to at Keyspan Park, they have a silent auction where they have a few uniform jerseys up for auction. Well, last night they had two. One was a Kaz Matsui jersey # 25 (also worn by 1B Nick Evans) from when he rehabed in Brooklyn last August for a Thursday night game which I was at (and also Robin was in attendance) and the other jersey was from a pitcher from ;last season Ryan Myers # 43. Well the minimum bid started at $100.00. There was already a $100.00 bid on the Matsui jersey so I put a $110.00 bid on it. I went back an inning later and there were a few more bids on it. I figured I would wait til just before the bidding ended at the end of the 5th inning to put my final bid on. Thw bidding was now up to $151.00 just before the 5th inning ended so I bid $155.00, and I won it.
Now when Colorado comes into New York in August, I'll have to get Matsui to autograph the jersey. Maybe he can throw in his batting gloves for me too.

BTW, the Ryan Myers jersey only went for $105.00

Also here's something to think about, Every Mets player who has rehabbed in Brooklyn eventually left the Mets the following season:

Mike Stanton
Tsuyoshi Shinjo
Joe McEwing
Tom Martin
Cliff Floyd

Why on earth would anyone spend $155 for a Matsui jersey??? Insanity?? ;)

You're assuming the Matsui will be with the major league club when the Rockies come to Shea in August......

I never got my Brooklyn Brewery tee shirt that I won last year......
