Willard Brown on August 13, 1947 against Hal Newhouser. It was Brown's only ML home run and it was an inside the parker.

Yes it is, BUT I knew that one off the top of my head. Larry Doby was from the same home town that I grew up in, Paterson, New Jersey and when I looked into his career I found out that Brown hit the 1st homer, not Doby.

Today was my first day back at work which meant I had neither the time nor opportunity to to sit down at my computer and toss out a few trivia questions (those of you who know me also know that that there are few things I enjoy more) or see if there were some I might have the privilege of answering myself. Too bad, because this is one I also knew off the top of my head. When you read as much baseball as those of us who love the game read (and on this board there are many) , you're going to read about Willard Brown. I wouldn't have been able to give you the exact date, but I could have told you it was an ISTP job and that he hit it for the Browns. There are some questions that have to be looked up, but this ain't one of them.

Trust me Jackie, Henry knew the answer to this one.

I really dont understand the problem as of late with people having a problem with people looking things up or knowing them..

Why does it matter? We aren't getting any prizes for answering these questions... Or if we are, I haven't been recieving my prizes in the mail:notme:

Part of the fun of these is that if you dont know the answer, trying to find them.. I have found other trivia questions within a trivia question by looking things up...

Good points, I agree, only get annoyed when some members think they know it all.

I think that's just a mis-perception on your part. I've seen no bragging or thumping of the chest when anyone has given an answer. I haven't seen any know-it-all answers.:notme:
