Well, at least they got some hits today. Higgy, Young and Simon went yard. For the first time all year, the Tigers clean-up hitter batted in the first inning. That's got to be our "Jayson Stark Worthless Stat of the Night" winner. With a lineup that featured Paquette, Halter and Simon it's amazing this team scores ever.

Lima was awful and they sent Cornejo down to Toledo, as he is the fifth starter and won't get to pitch for a turn or two due to scheduling. If Lima wasn't the highest paid pitcher on the team, I suspect he would be a Mud Hen, not Cornejo. Lima-Time has got to go. Soon. His one great, one good season were abberations. All the crummy seasons before and after are the norm. He's a great guy and a less than mediocre pitcher.

On to the Twin Cities, to open the dome for the Twinkies.

I was listening to this one on the radio and thought for a moment they might pull it out, too, James. I bounce between apathy, hope and disgust about this organization. Just depends on when you catch me. Today, I'm fine. Sure, I want them to start winning (about a week ago would have been fine), but if some changes are made and the kids on the farm play well enough to earn promotions, that's all I'm looking for now.

Of course, if Higginson, Weaver, Rivera and Young could post some good numbers, at least I'd get some fantasy league points!

Apparently not, Fulla. The Twins scored 8 in the eighth to win 13-7. Will this team ever win???

Of course, they'll win. Someday.

I never would have thought this year's club could have a worse record than last year's, but there's reason to think otherwise.

A disgruntled fantasy manager in one of my leagues waived Matt Anderson today so I put in a claim. I expect Matt will bounce back.

Poor Anderson needs the Tigers to be more competitive, so he can pitch on a regular basis. I can't blame the guy for cutting him lose, though. It sure looks like it's going to be a long year.
