The Cubs have reached a tentative deal to send Greg Maddux to the Dodgers, FOXSports.com has learned.

The deal requires the commissioner's approval because it involves a cash transaction of more than $1 million going from the Cubs to the Dodgers.
Maddux, a certain Hall of Famer with 327 career wins, is 9-11 this season with a 4.69 ERA.

In return, the Cubs will get Dodgers infielder Cesar Izturis. A former All-Star and Gold Glove winner, Izturis missed almost the first three months of the season after undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery last September to repair degenerative arthritis in his right elbow.

Since returning, Izturis has played in 32 games, hitting .252.

Izturis is an AWESOME fielder and when healthy, can hit .290 and give you 20 plus steals. I think it's a good move for the Cubs, they improve there D, get a SS for 07 and get rid of a guy they weren't going to keep. Izturis is coming back from an injury so the Cubs may not get the full Ceaser experience unitl next season, when they have a better chance to compete.

PEACE
