damn it...:( tek wasn't the best offensively this year, but nothing compares to how he deals with the pitching staff. him, and nixon on the dl is a big loss for us.

I just had knee surgery, and he won't be able to play in a month.
The Red Sox's season is done. I'm not a woe-is-me Sox fan, but they've lost Nixon/Tek/Wakefield, Schilling has been slipping, Wells has lost his ability, etc.
I've given up hope on the season.

Ditto.
The Yankees have spent all season dealing with injuries, I think the Sox can do the same.

Yeah but it happens to us at the end, Matsui and Shef will be back by September, and you have Abreu
We have no one to replace Tek, and no one that could replace him. We also have no viable good starters to replace Wake and stinky Wells.
Eh, it was a good run. The Wild Card will come from the central, whether it be the White Sox or Twins. Unless the Yankees play AAA ball, we lost the East.
On the up side, Jason Johnson had a decent start going 5.2 and only giving up 3 runs. What we need is the other pitchers to step it up, mainly Schilling and Beckett. There's still a lot of games to go, so throwing in the towel, because lost V-tek? Like V-tek and Nixon match up Sheffield and Matsui? :laff:
Like everyone assuming that V-tek makes the pitcher. While he does do a lot, none of us really know and we kinda assume he does a ton. We'll see in coming weeks. Only the people that work with V-tek know how great he is, not us or the media. I doubt they're throwing the towel.
Nixon nothing. We got Pena, so his lose isn't a huge deal.
Wakefield was the biggest lose we had, but he'll be back in due time.
Season not over with this many games to go and plenty of games against the Yankees.

Yeah, well, the guy we brought in to back up Wright was named Sidney Ponson, haha

at least you know what you're talking about!! thank you.
god damn, what kind of fan gives up on a season when they are tied for 1st place? even if we are slumping a little, what in the past few seasons has given anyone a reason to give up on this team!?
and milky...touche :laff: Ponson may be my country mate (sorta), but boy...

Season over? Are you guys freakin kidding me? I love Tek, but dude hit .240. Wily Mo has more HR's than Trot in a few weeks. :D
Wake will be back. Gimme a break. We needed to upgrade our pitching at the deadline. That is our area of concern. Has been all year.

Mirabelli is a more than capable backup to step in here. He'd probably be a .250/15 HR/75 RBI guy if he was a full timer, and that's better than what Tek would give us this year.
And its true, the Yankees have had injuries to more important players to their team then we have. We'll be fine. Where the hell is Dinardo btw???
