when he makes contact, it's good contact. But did you see his AB in the 9th? swung at 3 pitches, and completely missed em all. He definately needs some work, but I agree, he could be really good :thumbsup:

Not only is he strong, but when he was in Cincy he was pretty much a pull hitter, now he's starting to use the entire field and shoot stuff the other direction.

And he's got SPEED for a big man.

Goes from a .250 hitter who K's all the time, to a .320 hitter blasting shots over and off the monster.

He's a future Big Papi, we picked him up when he wasn't good, and he'll become even better.

As it was said previously, when Willy Mo makes contact with the ball it has great potential of being a home run or atleast a huge hit. He has so much power that if he improves his contact and patience at bat he'll become a threat to all pitchers.

Not true. Pena was young and show a lot of power. In short, he need to develop more at major league level, but the Reds had no position for him. They had Griffey, Dunn and Kearns out in the outfield at the being of this season. Well, not Dunn, but they decide to move back out to the outfield after dealing Pena.

The Reds still got a solid, but not an ace, pitcher. In the long run though, if Pena develop, the Sox win the deal for the long term while the Reds get a solid pitcher for the short run.
