Yikes, Lester has begun the game on a sour note! Already 2 hits with one out and it's already 1-0 Baltimore. On top of that he's thrown 25 pitches, 13 for strikes.

7-4 boston, bottom of the 5th. Mike Lowell hit a grand slam in the first.

yeah, lester has some serious issues in the first few innings...he needs to get that fixed. luckily he can get out of them without too much damage most of the time.

Papelbon REALLY struggled, I think he's wearing down.

It's inevitable, and predictable for rookie pitchers to slow down/have higher ERA's in the 2nd half.

I think he needs some rest, give Delcarmen a shot at closing maybe.

he shouldn't have even been in the game in the first place if Hansen was able to finish it.

and he pitched 2 great innings the night before, so sure, he was tired.

we won the game! swept the orioles...now lets take on the tigers.

Papelbon has my full confidence, but it's inevitable for rookies to falter a bit in the 2nd half, I mean they haven't been through the grind of a full season, so you can't blame them.

Unfortunately, he'll probably be unavailable for the first game, or two.
