Well Snyder blew it, also Javy blew it, Damon saved Wang's ass and the outfield grass blew it!

The ump saved Manny's ass. Strike 3 = next pitch HR.

Damon saved Wang, and the grass saved wang.

Otherwise Wang would have allowed 5-6 or maybe more runs.

I was never expecting to win this game since Jason Johnson was pitching. At least the Sox finally demoted him, hopefully for good.

Though, the offense had many chances to knock Wang around and failed.

I say we win tonight game, lose tomorrow and win the the next two, but the Yankees willing 4 out of 5? That's quite possible. Since none of these games are in the Sox favor when you look at the pitching match up and the Yankees bullpen owns the Sox bullpen.

I think the Yankees have too much momentum. But we all know what Randy Johnson can do to ruin that.

The Red Sox handed todays game over, Johnson wasn't that good.

10 walks by the 7th inning? 2 runs walked in, and then a 3 run triple from Posada that never would have happened?

Disgusting, the Red Sox need a better bullpen, and Varitek to even contend now. The season won't be a loss, as long as the Yankees fail in the postseason.

I hope the Sox keep losing like this this weekend, maybe it'll open the eyes of our GM and upstairs. What an Embarassment!!!

Because if the Yankees fail, I'll be happy.

Not sure why everyone still assume that V-tek lose was that big. Maybe the bullpen sucks, because it always sucked. People over-rated that bullpen, mainly due to Papelbon's success. The Red Sox bullpen stink and bad pitchers are not made better by a catcher.

It's laughable people are showing the ERA after V-tek went down forgetting that Beckett sucked while V-tek was here and giving up a ridiculous amount of runs to teams not name the Royals. Jason Johnson? Jon Lester was starting to struggle while V-tek was here. We need pitchers like Beckett, Hansen and Delcarman pitching to their potential, which I do not see happening.

Tek is extremely big to the team, because he knows the pitchers well and he communicates well. He'll know when a pitcher begins to have problems with his pitches, eg; sinker not sinking, if it's not as fast, etc. Pitchers felt very comfortable when he catched.

An ERA of almost 5 show how much V-tek matter to pitching staff. The ERA higher, because we happen to meet the Yankees, one of the best offense teams in MLB. Not trying to say V-tek not important, but people are vastly over-rating V-tek lose to the team as if he's gone, the pitching falling a part or that much worse than it was when he was here.

I disagree, his loss is huge.

Well, Timlin and Javier Lopez pretty much blew this game....bases loaded and Papelbon has to get all 3 outs.

Well, Francona made some terrible mistakes in this game and it cost them big time.

Looking forward to that NEXT season, obviously. Because this season is OVER.

I didn't watch last night. I'm glad I didn't. I didn't want to hear Jon Miller and Joe Morgan go on for three hours about how badly the Yanks kicked our asses the previous three games.

Preseason football on NBC held my interest for about 24 seconds.

Francona did make some questionable moves during the 8th, but in the end, Papelbon did blow the save. Am I angry at Papelbon? Not at all. Not angry at Tito or Papelbon. I am quite angry with Beckett walking 9 men in Game 3 of the series.

People should take a look at the Yankees and Red Sox. It's quite clear which team is better on the offensive, pitching and bullpen side. The only the thing the Red Sox are superior to the Yankees is defense. Lol, unlike in football, defense helps wins games, but not like it does in football.

Oh yes, bring out the brooms. We succeed in getting swept. :ugh:
