Tigers announce playoff ticket details
8/22/2006, 9:06 p.m. ET
The Associated Press

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers announced plans Tuesday for playoff ticket sales, if the team qualifies for postseason play.

Tickets will range from $35 to $100 and will go on sale Sept. 19 for American League division series games. The postseason begins Oct. 3 at times and places to be determined over the 30-plus games remaining in the regular season.

Fans can buy tickets at the Comerica Park box office starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 and on the team's Web site, http://www.tigers.com, at 2 p.m. that day. Each customer will be able to buy up to six tickets.

The team said the announcement followed Major League Baseball standard operating procedures.

"This season has shaped up to be outstanding — for the team, for our fans and for Detroit," Duane McLean, senior vice president of business operations, said in a statement. "Our fans at Comerica Park have been terrific all season long and we look forward to the possibility of a packed ballpark during the month of October."

Getting a little cocky now, huh? Get cocky. Annoy the f*ck out of the White Sox fans. That's what you do when you're in 1st.:wedgie:

This reminds me of the 2003 Yankees-Red Sox ALCS in game 7 when the Red Sox already had the World Series logo on their field and the Yankees ended up winning and going to the WS. Stupid suckers.

This is standard operating procedure.... every team with playoff hopes is doing the same thing right now.

MLB does this for all the teams that are in the playoff hunt.It has absolutely nothing to do with getting cocky whatsoever.

I would buy some if I could. I'm excited about Detroit being back in the playoffs. I still love that 1968 team with Denny McClain and Mickey Lolich.

This is going to sound stupid, but where is the Comerica Park box office? At the actual park? I'm probably going to go down there early that day to get tickets.

Well Johan was absolutely disgusting today...

You guys need to regroup this week.. Off tomorrow than a quick 2 game series vs Texas then another day off and then a 3 game series vs the O's...

Then you have a tough 3 games vs the White Sox then its the O's and Royals again... Then you finish the season with Toronto and KC at home... I think you guys have a favorable schedule down the stretch...

Stay positive:)

KC has been throwing a monkey wrench into some teams plans. They knocked the Twins around a bit.

We have a great race coming down with the Central. The one fault I see with the Tigers is that they are a Hr hitting team. And if a team gets cold it hurts but if they are hot look out. I think the Tigers get in if it is a div win or wild card. The Tigers got some good pitching and if the hitting gets hot look out.

For a little shot in the arm for Tigers fans. Remember last season. The White Sox cooled down for a bit coming into the end of last season but then come playoff time they cranked it up..... ;)

I think it comes down to the Twins and Tigers in the ALCS anyway. ;)

Their 6 games up in the wild card and still leading their division, with 9 games left.
