Yes...the hated team that is the raiders is indeed my favorite. :p
I'll give my basic analyisis on each part of the Raiders...

I'll start off with the WR core, with Randy Moss leading the pack finally getting the mobile, cannon arm QB he needed in Brooks, looked promising after a struggled first 2 pre-season games. He did much better, in the last game he hooked up with moss for two scores...both deep. Followed with Porter, Gabriel, Whitted, and Curry. This is in my opinion what looks to be a very athletic and skilled WR core. Although there has been problems with Porter the past few weeks, it looks as if he calmed down. Finally stepping into the game on Thursday. The QB position seems to be a clear shot...for now for Aaron Brooks. Although Andrew Walter is looking promising for the future, right now they are going to stay with the experienced QB.

The OL of the Raiders is always a dominant one, with tremendous depth, and with with backs Lamont Jordan, Zack Crockett and Justin Fargas in the backfield, it looks very promising, as Jordan had a suprising year in his first season in the Silver and Black. The Raiders defense is tougher then ever under new head coach ART SHELL who looks to bring discipline to the Raiders not just in the defense, but everywhere else.

With an impressive kicking duo in Janikowski and Lechler the special teams could not be better. It seems from the Wide recievers, to the secondary, to the line...the Raiders may have enough to pull it off this season and get a winning record.

The Oakland Raiders of 2005 struggled because of a lack of discipline on the field, and in the lockeroom. It appears that Art Shell has brought the rough and tough raiders of the past back.

Raiders sign Jeff George

The Oakland Raiders have signed veteran free agent quarterback Jeff George, the team announced today. George, who entered the NFL as a first round draft pick by the Indianapolis Colts in 1990, played for the Raiders from 1997-98. He threw for 3,917 yards and 29 touchdown passes in 1997.

The 6'4", 215-pounder out of Illinois played for the Colts from 1990-93, and the Atlanta Falcons from 1994-96, before joining the Silver and Black. After leaving Oakland, George played in 12 games with 10 starts in 1999 with the Minnesota Vikings, spent 2000-01 with the Washington Redskins, and 2002-2003 with the Seattle Seahawks. He was with the Chicago Bears the past two seasons.

George has completed 2,298 of 3,967 pass attempts for 27,602 yards, 154 touchdowns and 113 interceptions during his professional career.

I have seriously a very minimal opinion on this one...I don't think he'll see the field, but rather as a mentor for Walter (The quarterback of the future) but the thing is...why Jeff George? That's the question on every Raider fan's minds, and mine.

Raiders QB Jeff George had been desperate to get back in the league, personally calling teams to ask them for jobs. But until this summer, none expressed an interest.

Mentor?? Jeff George?? What's he going to teach Walter? How to underachieve and act like a diva. While I'm a Jags fan I have always liked the Raiders, including when he was the starting QB. He was a headache. He's always had tons of talent and an attitude to go with it. I think they brought him in, although this is crazy, to replace or challenge Brooks. Not that Brooks has been special thus far, but they just signed George after he has been out of football and he last played in someone else's system.

The Raiders are scheduled to log a league-high 30,702 miles for their 10 road games this season, including three exhibition games. It would have been even higher had one of their road games not been in San Francisco.

Newly signed Raiders quarterback Jeff George ran the scout-team offense Tuesday. Art Shell said he threw nothing like a 38-year-old quarterback who has been out of the game for almost five years. "He's a very accurate guy, and when it comes out, it's like a missile," Shell said. Shell said it's "always possible" the team will keep four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster.

The second coming of Jeff George could pass without a down played. Signed by the Raiders on Monday, the 38-year-old George did not play Thursday. Shell said it's possible the team will carry four quarterbacks on the final roster, but one team official said it is not likely.

Raiders WR Jerry Porter started 15 games at receiver last season, but he landed in Art Shell's doghouse after an offseason meeting ended with his getting booted from Shell's office. He caught only one pass during the exhibition season and didn't play with the first-team offense at all.

The Raiders must settle on a new starting wide receiver to go with Randy Moss, though they're not in a hurry to name a No. 2 pass catcher. Coach Art Shell said Ronald Curry began Monday's practice with the first team but wouldn't declare Curry the starter. "Still a work in progress," Shell said. "I like that phrase. Someone will line up on Monday night."

Receiver Randy Moss criticized the Raiders on Friday for being a team with "crazy" things going on. On Sunday, in an interview with ESPN, Moss shed more light on the source of his discontent. "Coach Art Shell just has a tight grasp on us, man, that, it's just we're walking on egg shells," Moss told ESPN. "It's funny, but, at the same time, as a grown man, it messes with your manhood a little bit. Knowing that you're a man, you're a certain age, and this man is treating you like kids or a boy or whatnot."

Offensive coordinator Tom Walsh is in charge when the Raiders have the ball. Off the practice field, you can usually find him smiling and strolling, but it can't possibly be connected to production levels. Going into Sunday, his overall offense -- or the Al Davis offense, if the boss still wants his name attached to this -- is ranked 32nd in a 32-team league, making it just as bad in the NFL as the team's passing offense. So, why does Walsh look like the happiest man in Alameda this 2-5 season? Maybe because his immediate supervisor is thrilled with him. "Yes, I am," Raiders coach Art Shell said.

Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss was anything but quiet once he came off the field, getting into a heated exchange with a reporter in the locker room. As a group of reporters huddled near Moss, waiting for Raiders quarterback Andrew Walter, Moss asked politely whether they wished to speak to him. One reporter replied snidely that they were waiting for Walter, not Moss, then the two exchanged words for several minutes, with Moss using several profanities, then taunting the reporter as the group began asking Walter questions.
Huh maybe if it looked like you tryed at least to catch a ball and give some effert. :hmm:

Raiders star Randy Moss asked about all his dropped passes this season: "Maybe because I'm unhappy and I'm not too much excited about what's going on," Moss said. He was screwing his diamonds back into his ear lobes at this point, polite and cordial as could be, so don't write this off as some angry rant. "So, my concentration and focus level tend to go down sometimes when I'm in a bad mood. "All I can say is if you put me in a good situation and make me happy, man, you get good results." Wow. For a guy who rarely talks, he sure packs a punch when he does. Even Raiders coach Art Shell was shocked to hear about it at his media sit-down Monday. "That's what he said?" Shell said before pausing to mull over Moss' words. "Well, then that's a problem he has. I don't have that problem. That's a problem that he has to deal with. "You hate to see that. You hate to hear that." Moss has 33 catches this season for 455 yards. He has dropped at least seven balls the past three games. Asked if it was fair to say he has been dropping more balls than ever, Moss said, "Oh, you could call it fair." "I just think that my game has been below the radar. When I came to the Oakland Raiders, there was a big emphasis put on bringing back the deep ball. ... And, that's one thing that has bothered me, knowing that we have weapons to go out there and stretch the field, such as myself, but we're not getting it done.

This year the raiders look pretty good. Randy Moss played terribly beacuse he did not have a qb back on the raiders.
