I know a lot of Philly fans would have preferred Deion Branch, but no way they (or anybody else in the NFL) is gonna give up a first round pick PLUS pay him all that money.

Eagles give up linebacker Mark Simoneau and a conditional fourth-round draft pick in 2007 in return. This guy could have a huge year if him and McNabb can get on the same page this close to the season starting

Donte Stallworth's stats in 2005: 70 receptions for 945 yards and 7 TD's

thoughts???

I would say great deal for the Eagles. Give up a fair LB for a guy and postion they need.

Yes it's a smart pickup most definitely. Stallworth is the fastest man in the NFL.

He's a good, but underachieving reciever. He has talant, and without Joe Horn in front of him he may explode.

He has never had a good QB also to throw to him....

Yea he's almost like Chad Johnson in a twilight zone episode where he's chained up in the basement and thrown scraps of chikken.

Donte' Stallworth, acquired from the Saints for linebacker Mark Simoneau and a fourth-round pick that upgrades to a three if the Eagles extend Stallworth's deal, caught six passes for 141 yards and one touchdown in his Philly debut, against the Texans.

Amazingly, that yardage totals exceeds all but one of Owens' games with the Eagles during his first season in Philly, including the Super Bowl.
