Kellen Winslow's confidence, swagger and gifted athleticism were back Sunday. So was his presence in the end zone, and more than a little emotion.

Winslow, who nearly was killed in a motorcycle accident last year and broke his right leg in the second game of his rookie season, was the highlight of the Cleveland Browns' otherwise dismal 19-14 loss to New Orleans.

The tight end stiff-armed his way into the end zone on an 18-yard reception and sparked the lifeless Browns in the second half.

"It felt great," Winslow said. "Just all the hard work I've been through these past two years. All the hardships that I had to go through. It was just good to get back in the end zone."

After scoring, he spiked his helmet on the sideline and embraced Browns head athletic trainer Marty Lauzon. Tears flowed and Winslow shouted to Lauzon, "That was for you!"

Winslow led the Browns with eight receptions for 63 yards, quickly emerging as quarterback Charlie Frye's favorite target.
