Cubs 1B Derrek Lee will miss the rest of the season to take care of his ailing 3-year-old daughter.

In a tearful press conference yesterday,Lee said that his daughter has lost vision in one eye.

Read more about Lee and his family here. (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060917&content_id=1667409&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc)

My thoughts and prayers are with DLee and his family.

I read this yesterday and really, really hope it turns out ok for Lee and his daughter. Man, just plain sucks when you read about a little kid going through something like this.

Tough tough year for the Cubs and Derek Lee.

I sure would like to see them go back to the WS before I die.

I never gave info like this a second thought. I used to just think it was just bad luck. Happens to everybody. Now that I have children and realize how much a parent loves his child it really saddens me. I don't know what I would do in a situation like that. I know he has to be more scared than he ever has been in his life while his daughter is ill. My mind always go to the child's thoughts now. They have to be scared because they don't understand what is happening to them. I just pray everything works out for them.

I hope the little sweetheart gets better. Prayers and good thoughts for D-Lee and family. And also for Glendon Rusch.
