The San Francisco Giants are just about out of time. Matt Cain allowed consecutive third-inning homers to Garrett Atkins and Matt Holliday, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Giants 12-4 Tuesday night. San Francisco, which has 12 games remaining, began the night 4 1/2 games back in the NL West and four games out in the wild-card race.
