I was listening to the Mets game and there was somthing said about Alanta coaches said that Furcal should stop hitting switch these are his BA's from last year
Aginst Left Handers: .349
Aginst Right Handers: .249

Furcal hit a full .100 points lower when hitting aginst righties I think that a good reason for suggesting that he just hit from the right side. What about you?;)

That might mean:

He batted Aginst Left Handed pitchers: .349
He batted Aginst Right Handed pitchers: .249

If it is switch hitting they might say;

.349 from the left side
.249 from the right side

Is that what you mean to say?

To answer the question;
Swich hitting is a valueble asset. He needs that weapon in his arsenal. It depends alot on the pitcher and what kind of junk he's throwing at you (sliders away, etc). You may be better off on one side of the plate than the other. The majority of the time it does make sence to hit from the left side though.

There's not nearly as many lefties in the game, and with a shortened season, so it's possible Furcal had very few at bats with lefties. If that's the case, the .349 average is deceiving.

Fulla, that quote is great. :biggrin: It sounds like a Yankees fan's moto.
