The Colorado Rockies announced Monday that hitting coach Duane Espy has been reassigned within the organization.
Espy, 54, had spent the last four seasons as hitting coach. He has been re-assigned to work in player development with the organization's minor league affiliates.
Under Espy, the Rockies ranked third in the National League this season with a .270 batting average and fifth in runs (813).
The Rockies also announced that first base-outfield coach Dave Collins would not be back with the team in 2007.
The team starts to hit on the road and so you fire your hitting coach........... :hmm:
