We can come up with rumors just as outrageous as the mainstream media. So list the latest knee-jerk, media-fueled trade rumor you heard (or at least think you've heard here).

Alex Rodriguez and a player to be named later to Houston for Roy Oswalt, Morgan Ensberg and Brad Lidge
Houston also throws in the annual rumor they will trade Clemens to the Yankes after Roger announces his unretirement in the middle of the All-Star Game broadcast.

This one should be filed in the 'No-Brainer' folder since it makes soooooo much sense. Houston's rivals in the north of the state, the Rangers, pay a bulk of the salary for Rodriguez to hit 45 HR per year in Houston but bat just .111 in 32 postseason games. Meanwhile, Oswalt wins a few playoff games for the Yanks, Ensberg makes New York fans forget Scott Brosius and the player to be named later winds up being Brad Lidge himself.

Barry Bonds and a trainer to Baltimore for Jay Gibbons and Brian Roberts
San Fran also signs Jason Grimsley and Albert 'Joey' Belle announces he is hopeful of a comeback to play LF for the Giants. Miguel Tejada welcomes Bonds with open arms saying, " Glad I'm not going to be the scapegoat any longer."

Yankees sign Joe Girardi to manage with Lou Piniella as bench coach
This one may not be as far-fetched as it might sound.

Theo Epstein, dressed as the San Diego Chicken, announces his resignation from Boston
The real SD Chicken assumes GM duties for the Red Sox.

Royals defend big contracts to Zito and Lee
After having one of the lowest payrolls for year, Kansas City's Dayton Moore defended spending $157 million to sign Barry Zito and Carlos Lee. "We've been saving up for a long time, and decided to blow it all at once," said Moore.

I would be fine with this. The chicken could probably do a better job.
