Torii Hunter will be back with the Minnesota Twins for at least one more year.

The Twins said Tuesday they picked up Hunter's $12 million option.

Hunter, 31, a five-time Gold Glove winner in center field, was a big part of the Twins' AL Central title. After coming back from a stress fracture in his left foot in midsummer, Hunter wound up hitting 31 homers and driving in 98 runs.

Hunter, a Twin his entire career, had said he preferred a long-term deal. But in a statement, he said he was happy to have the option picked up.

Wow!

Good to see the Twins spending some money... I thought they were going to let him go...

At the start of Sep I to thought he would be gone. But the way he lead this team back to take first place and getting 30+ hr was just to much to let him go.
I believe they get him signed up also now to a long term so he will be the opening day CF in the new park.....

Now please, please don't sign him long term to this kinda money!

The only thing that excites me less than Torii Hunter at 12 mill a year is Torii Hunter for 4 more years.

I would take him in a minute. I was hoping they would pass and the Reds would have made a run at him.

Take him in a minute? That's a little over zealous, IMO.
