Mavericks coach Avery Johnson has signed a new five-year, $20 million contract that will keep one of the NBA's most successful young coaches in Dallas through 2011. In his first full stint as head coach last season, the Mavericks reached the NBA finals for the first time, losing to the Miami Heat in six games.
