Grrrrrr!!!!! :Pissed:

Okay, here's my take.

Mota was having trouble in Game 1. So when he was having trouble in Game 2, Willie should have yanked him after he put a second guy on base. Bring Heilman in to get the final out of the 7th. Leave him in for the 8th, and even bring him in for the ninth. Or Hernandez. You don't need to bring Wagner in to a tie game. What if it goes extra innings.

We've seen Willie do this all season. He waits too long to pull the pitcher when it's obvious the guy on the mound is in trouble. He needs to pull them sooner to stop the bleeding.

But on the bright side, I didn't need my blanket or extra scarf, hat, earmuffs, or two pairs of gloves. I was fine in just my two long sleeve shirts, sweatshirt, jacket, two pairs of pants, two pairs of socks, and one scarf.

What the heck was with that rundown play started by David Wright?? Why didn't he just go for the sure out at first? That rundown was not exactly textbook.

I would have loved going in to St Louis up two games, but we'll take 2 out of three there, so the series will come back to Shea with the Mets up 3 games to 2. :)

I was, though, extremely pleased with Wright avoiding the double play by ducking under the tag and making it to second.

Here is what I'm feelin'

Horrible game. Some of our weaknesses are beginning to show

Mota (damn that triple, Willie should have pulled him earlier)

Wagner (Taguchi only 2 HRs in 316 AB and then the two doubles and single, unacceptable).

And I have to question Willie about bring Wagner in in a non-save situation...

Yes we scored 6 runs, but we left men on. We were missing the big hit all night long.

We rocked Cy Young winner Carpenter early and should have won,

our BP is overworked. We need some depth in our starting rotation (pulling Maine after 4 innings
seemed a little too early, I think Maine had enough in his tank to go 1 more inning)

and 2 errors! Our defense was shoddy.

They looked like another team out there.

For the first time, I am a little worried. And on the other hand, you can't win them all. I'll always watch the Mets, will always love them, will alwway root for them

The game is over, time to try to find a way to win tonight, its a must win game! They got to show the resilience they've shown all year long.

I'm heading out in my Mets stuff. LETS GO METS!

Yeah. What Kat said.

In fact, what everyone said! Sucky game last night. :(

Robin, I spit out my coffee reading your list of layers. :rotf: Ohmigod. That is so Shea in October. :D

Cyn..... as I was running today, I was thinking to myself, "It's Cyn's brother's fault. He hasn't been to a game for a really long time, and then he goes and look what happens. He better not go to anymore games." :D Really! That's exactly what I was thinking! I was going to call you and tell you I was blaming your brother! :laff:

Well, I'm looking for Trachs to go deep into the game tonight. We can get this back. We know this team is resilient.

LET'S GO METS!!!

Good thoughts from all..

I really aqree with Kat on leaving Mota in there too long... I felt he did the same in game 3 of the NLDS as he left Mota in there to hit with the bases loaded after already pitching an inning... Willie just wanted to stretch it out another inning..

I dont really have too much of a problem with Willie pulling Maine in this game.. I think I had more of a problem when he pulled him in game 1 vs the Dodgers.. Felt he was sharper in that game... He was too wild in this game and clearly didnt have command of his pitches....Our bullpen isnt that over worked at the moment IMO... Remember, we were off from Mon-Thurs and Glavine pitched 7 innings on Sat and they only used Mota and Wagner in that game so guys like Bradford, Feliciano, Hernandez and Heilman haven't pitched in awhile...

Tonights game is big and we need a good 6-7 innings from Trax... We need to step up and take this 1st game in St. Louis to get back the momentum...

Pitching matchups for the next 2 are pretty interesting...

Tonights game features a couple of double digit winners with high era's so it could be a slugfest...

Tomorrow, who knows what we will get with Perez but the Cards are in the same boat with Anthony Reyes... We could see a couple of nights of wild baseball...

Last night was actually much much warmer than Opening Day 2003.

The team just didn't look sharp at all. Hopefully they'll bring their enthusiasm and eagerness with them to St Louis
