I think the most obvious need for this team is to sign another pitcher... We dominated the regular season without a dominant pitcher, just imagine how much better we would be with one? Plus we need that solid #1 starter for the playoffs...

Jason Schmidt won't be a bad option. I think he's a better number 1 than Zito. The Mets need starting pitching in the worst way. I think they might be force to trade for the pitcher they need. While I like Schmidt, if they don't get him or Zito, then they're going to need to deal.

The Mets will likely be the favorite again next season depending on what they do with the rotation. Glavine seem effective, but beyond on that, that rotation doesn't look too hot. Adding a pitcher or two might be a good idea. They should avoid adding more 40 year old pitcher. They end up with the same problem as the other New York team.
