The Tigers spotted Jose Lima a three run lead in the first, only to see him promptly give up eight White Sox runs. Pathetic. The Tigers did bounce back and caught Chicago at eight a piece.
In the seventh, the Sox loaded the bases for Ray Durham who hit a single that Higginson played into a bases clearing double and that was the ballgame. (In fariness to Higgy, the ball may have taken a bad hop, but it didn't look good.) The Tigers couldn't mount another charge after that outburst.
The Tigers are at least battling now, but they just can't get enough quality innings from their staff. KC is coming to town. I'm hoping for two wins minimum. Of course, I hope for lots of things.
