An E-Mail from Brian Bannister

Brian Bannister – who is an intelligent, quality guy in addition to being a solid pitcher – checked in from Mexico. He's pitching in that country's winter league for Culiacan, in Oliver Perez's hometown.

So far he's made three starts, and is 2-0 with a 1.56 ERA. He pitched seven scoreless innings Tuesday in his most recent outing.

Here's an E-mail from Brian:

The experience here has been great. The people here are very passionate about baseball, and there a lot of quality players of all ages in the league.
I have really been able to focus on getting my legs strong again, and I've been throwing well. The first two games I had to be on a pitch count (75 & 90), but last night I was up to the full 100 pitches and had a good outing. I've been working on throwing my curveball a lot more in tough counts, with good results. My velocity is also up a lot more than during the season.

Oliver came down here last week, and no photos while I'm here - baseball only.
