Reds Like Gotham's Kids
The Reds are said to looking to move Adam Dunn, and if they are, it appears that they have interest in both the Mets and Yankees' young prospects.
Their logic? Both the Mets and Yankees have expressed an interest in the young slugger in the past, and while they haven’t in awhile, one industry source stated Wednesday that “(the Mets and Yankees) are going to find that teams are going to be very difficult to deal with this offseason. (Dunn) might be a guy they consider when they realize what’s out there, and what it’s going to cost.”
The Reds are most interested in young arms and players that are contact-type hitters, guys who project to strikeout less than 90-100 times a season, but show the ability to produce runs. The club is also trying to improve its overall defense.
The local players/prospects discussed in internal sessions are believed to be, but not limited to the following:
Yankees
Tyler Clippard
Sean Henn
Brian Bruney
Brett Gardner
Cody Ehlers
Marcos Vechionacci
Mets
Brian Bannister
Mike Devaney
Henry Owens
Carlos Gomez
Anderson Hernandez
Mike Carp
I have only heard of one of these players mentioned. Does anybody know about them. How many will they get for Dunn? I know he K's alot ,but he does drive in his share of runs. I hope they get value out of him.
