I just had an urge to look up Pat Tillman's career stats, and talk about tough. I found so many conflicting information that I don't know what to believe.

In this link it says that he set a franchise record of 224 tackles in 2000 all the way at the bottom of this page: http://pcfootball.net/PatTillman.htm

In this link it says he had 200 tackles in 2000: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-cardinals-tillman&prov=ap&type=lgns

In this link it says he only had 145 tackles in 2000: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/stats?playerId=1605

In this link for some odd reason cnnsi.com chose to remove his stats from their database: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/players/4455/

This link makes no sense at all: http://www.personal.psu.edu/jed124/football/career/pattillman.htm

What is going on here? What is his correct stats?

I mean did he really have 224 tackles in 1 season? That would have been amazing, and I would have thought that was something I wouldn't have forgotten.

That's an average of 14 tackles per game.

Tackles are not an official NFL stat, therefore the numbers conflict sometimes. You could find this with just about any player.

Well, w/e, but I'd just like to know which one it is.

imgreat95

It could be all of them. How often do you see a play in football where only one guy records the tackle?? usually multiple guys are in on it.. so it depends on how one statistician chooses to count assists.... and how many guys he wants to give credit for the actual tackle. That is why it is not an official stat. Too tough to keep track of.

shut up you're full of so much bs. :D

There has to be a number recognized by the NFL. Don't sit here and tell me it doesn't exist......wth?

God.....someone wanna take a crack at this? like maybe someone has a nfl card of his stats or something. It really isn't important.

Tackles are not an official NFL stat. It is up to teams and/or news outlets to credit the number of tackles. You will get different numbers from different sources. You have to agree on one source and stick with it.

That's all fine and good, but obviously it helps answer my question. The number I'm looking for is the one creditted by the team, and accepted by the NFL.

that's what i've been saying all along and you're not listening.

no.. what I am saying is that NO number is accepted by the NFL... ever... it is the team... and the team only...

nowhere in your threads that I can see have you asked which one the team credits him with... until your last post.

well damn is it too much to make you think? of course i meant the team. I think that's the one that most ppl would accept. you're the only one that makes stuff up to cover your ass. :D

as far as what the cardinals report... it looks like they dont even record tackles.. unless I missed it in the 23 pages of team records...

wiilie, i didnt say NO pads... I said not being covered in pads. In hockey, you wear shin guards... and a helmet... SOMETIMES a face shield. The pads worn underneath the sweater are foam, and really do nothing at all.

So yeah... not covered in pads...

anyways......

you know what? forget about it. This is a pain. Do you do this just to pump up your post count?

Alright I'll be nice. Honestly I knew that tackles weren't an official stat which is what annoyed me when imgreat posted it here. However I guess I didn't really know exactly WHAT that meant. I assumed there was at least 1 tackle stats favored over others. I know that just because the team recognizes a tackle number that it isn't 'officially' recognized by the NFL. I guess I shouldn't take it personal because he's arrogant like this to everybody. :kissyou:

I have honestly not been angry one bit over this thread even if it looks like it(words have a way of being misconstrued if you don't see the person actually saying them). It's mostly just me poking fun at someone, because all other actions are unbelievably unsuccesful.

I'm just going to answer my own question. I believe his 2000 season's stats were 224 tackles, or rather that is what I believe the team's count was. And as far as I'm concerned that's official enough for me. Also, somehow I have a vague memory of seeing those stats on nfl.com, or cnnsi.com during that year, and thinking: holy crap, a strong safety put up over 200 tackles?

That's my attempt to be honest. :hmm: Will you get rid of your hard on?

your attempt to be honest?? You ask a question.. I answer the question that you ask.. you tell me I am full of it.... I back my answer up with proof... you then say "well of course thats not the question I was really asking... you should have known that..." even though you had asked the question several times.... I answer your new question correctly... and you go on to say I am arrogant...

How is that honesty??

You Did Not Answer My Question.

there is a source that keeps tackle stats of all players, and you can use that source to compare tackle stats from 1 player to another. yes i know there is more then 1 source, but there has to be a source that is more widely accepted. i, because i do not know, am assuming that source is the nfl teams. you brought up the cardinals stats database, but it did not seem like it was in there.

you helped me distinguish the information that i R E A L L Y wanted. that is what you helped me do.

Go to this link at nfl.com: http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/TAC/2006/regular

note this quote: Tackles are not an official NFL statistic. The totals below reflect those recorded by the Stats Crew at each game. For updated tackles stats following coaches film review, please visit the individual team web sites at (drop down menu)

So this is tackles that are reported on NFL.com dude. NFL stands for National Football League if you didn't know. They also say in the quote that they have stats crews at each game. Wouldn't you almost go so far to say that this is about as official as it gets without it actually being official?

And here is the Arizona Cardinals 2006 stats: http://www.nfl.com/teams/stats/ARI/2006/regular

I just can't find their 2000 stats book. :( I bet your ass that their 2000 stats book has 224 tackles for Pat Tillman.

You know what the funny thing is? I remember playing Madden 2006, and they got a mock radio show that plays when you're in franchise mode. So the host asks the question: 'who lead the nfl in tackles during the 2004 season?' And then ppl called in trying to guess. The first person guessed ray lewis. The right answer was some LB in Houston.

EDIT: If you want to keep argueing then don't even bother to reply back, because you've made no effort whatsoever. And get rid of that gd stupid looking avatar. :)
