They are reporting on ESPN radio locally that Rocker may be allowed to join the Rangers again without ever reporting to the minor league club. :tweakin: :tweakin: :argue: What happen to the send down???????:deal: I think something was happening here that isn't being told publicly for some reason. Strange I tell ya...:worm:

I was listening to the Nashville Sounds play the Oklahoma RedHawks the other night online. The Nashville announcers were talking about how so many people had bought seats near the visitors bullpen for that series because of John Rocker. Then they reported that Rocker had been given special permission to wait 10 days until he reported. They were speculating that his being "sent down" was so that he could spend some time back in Atlanta with his therapist. Of course, that was just speculation, but I guess ya never know.

He pitched last night for 2/3rds of an inning and looked OK. I guess he is back and has fixed things for the time being.

Because Rocker is replacing an injured player on the roster, the Rangers weren't bound by the rule requiring an optioned player to spend at least 10 days with his minor league team.
The injured player Rocker is replacing is Pudge who was put on the DL retroactive 4-15-02.....
Instead of reporting to the RedHawks of the Pacific Coast League, Rocker stayed in California to work individually on his delivery mechanics with Tom House at a performance clinic the former Rangers pitching coach owns.
