Familiar face could return in left field
Twins haven't made offer to White, but seem set to let Kubel DH

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Twins aren't searching very far in their quest to add one more bat to the lineup at this year's Winter Meetings.

Minnesota appears to be in the process of bringing back Rondell White, but as the team's starting left fielder, not the designated hitter. The team is expected to use some in-house candidates, including left-hander hitter Jason Kubel, to fill the hole at the DH spot.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan wouldn't confirm if the team had actually tendered an offer to White, but Ryan said he had talked with White's agent, Seth Levinson, and that the team has significant interest in re-signing White.

"It would be nice to have some finality to a few spots here," Ryan said.

White's future with the club was one of many issues manager Ron Gardenhire addressed during his interview session on Wednesday morning at the Dolphin Hotel. Most of the talk surrounding the Twins this offseason has centered on the team's need for starting pitching, but there is no question that the team is looking for at least one bat to add to its lineup -- and that bat is expected to be White.

White would be ok in LF if he dont get hurt. I would like to see Kubel start to get quite a few AB's.
