When the freak is this youth movement going to be done!?!?!
You get the players in place to do something and then trade them so you can keep the Gen R movement going?!?!?!
Screw this crap I am done being a Rockies fan until that dumm ass O'Drool is kicked out on the freaking street.
For 7+ years now he has wrecked this team in every way by trading away proven guys.

Dont things always look good for a team when you got Bun Hole Kim as the 3rd starter and Fogg as the 4th. Man makes you wonder who the great number 5 is going to be?

Jason Hirsh is going to be a stud Shad. I hate that the Astros traded him. Jennings is the proven commodity the Astros were searching for, (I would have preferred Garland) but he came at a steep price. I truely feel that Jason Hirsh is a rising star.

Like young established stars better then rising stars myself. We already have a young rising star in Francis who was a monster in the minors to.
Screw Dealing Dan and the horse he rode in on. He better hope Hirsh and Buchholz pan out since he and Hurdle are on the chopping block this year according to the Rocky Mtn. News.

I like the answer that OW gave.
Dale while the deal does make some good for the Rockies with getting a fast outfielder with a good arm and a young rising star the Rockies fans are still stuck with the "We are doing the youth movement" When does this end? When do we get to see the fruits of running out the young guys to finaly see the winning.
JJ is a very good very solid young pitcher. While people are looking at his record they aint seeing his games he pitched. While having a .500 record he has done this at Coors field for half his games with a very, very bad team behind him. And for the past few years he has had around 20+ games blown by a bullpen that Hurdle will use until there arms fall off.
While I bet Hirsh is a young star in the making he still has to prove what JJ has proved already. And while this deal does fill a spot in CF there was other options to do this deal with.
Unless Hirsh steps up huge to be a number 3 starter for the Rockies we have a season to where Bun Hole Kim will be the number 3 guy with ? marks after him. This team went from a very good rotation with JJ, Cook and Francis to where they could hide BUn Hole and Fogg to now this is just what we have had for years. Young guys making up most of the rotation and no one to back them up when they fall.
While Stros fans might not have traded Hirsh you guys got a strong minded pitcher that eats up innings and is very young still has a .500 record while pitching in one of the hardest parks ever with the very worst teams, manager and GM behind him.

Jennings was 9-13 with a 3.78 ERA for the Rockies in 2006 with three complete games and two shutouts. Colorado's all-time leader in victories, Jennings' 3.78 ERA last season represented the second-lowest full-season mark in Colorado franchise history and ranked 12th overall in the National League. Jennings also posted career-high totals in 2006 in innings pitched (212) and strikeouts (142).
From May 29 to the end of the season his ERA was only 3.17, the second-lowest in the NL during that time and fourth in the Majors.
He had three complete games, two shutouts during that period, plus he had the second-lowest run support in the Major Leagues during that period of time.
From May 29 until end of the 2006 season, Jennings' 3.17 ERA trailed only Johan Santana (2.44) of Minnesota, new teammate Roy Oswalt (2.78), and Erik Bedard (2.91) of Baltimore.
In 156 career starts from 2001-06, Jennings was 58-56 with a 4.74 ERA, including six complete games and three shutouts. He was the 2002 National League Rookie of the Year after finishing 16-8 that season with a 4.52 ERA in 32 starts.
I would be intrested to see how many games his bullpen blew for him over all this time also.
But how many pitchers in the league can step up to replace this?

The area where Willie will impress Rockie fans the most is in CF. His arm is incredible. He's still adjusting to balls hit right at him (toughest part of playing CF) but his arm is better that any other CF in baseball. He's better than Beltran, Edmonds, Tori Hunter and Andruw Jones at throwing out runners on the bases. He has a RF arm in CF. He obviously doesn't compare with them offensively, and if he doesn't improve his OBP he won't be a lot of help in the lineup. He's better than anything else COL has in CF right now (don't even think about throwing Cory Sullivan into the mix)..

You are right about him being the best CF in Colorado right now. He is about the perfect CF for Coors. Ya just get his OBP up so he can be a lead off hitter and he will be great.
But no use in any way if the pitchers cant keep the ball in the park. Whip lash is going to be troubleing the pitchers this year even more.
