San Diego is finally awakening from the deep sleep they were in. They beat a good Pittsburgh team friday night 10-1 behind the pitching of Brett Tomko. Another great performance by him. He pitched a complete game and allowed only six hits. His ERA is 1.30.
He's only 29 years old. He has struck out 28 batters in 34.2 innings of work. Now if Brian Lawrence who is 3-1 continues to improve and he will, watch out NL West. His ERA is 2.29. It's going to get tight.
Padres rank sixth in team pitching in the NL with an ERA of 3.53. Tied for 13th in team hitting. The hitting must continue to improve.:2guns:
