They have a good chance of doing very well this year....for the fact that their young bullpen is beginning to mature and play very well.... I am very excited to see what the 2007 future will hold for this young team...What are your opinions about the club this year? .500 Ball club with the new Cuban?

I think they may push that number if everything falls into place. I kinda doubt they will win over 75 though :(

I think they will be better than last year, but they are still missing that supporting bat to protect Bay. Sanchez emerged as a good hitter, but they need somebody to make them afraid not to pitch around Bay.

Sadly, I think they will be fighting the Reds to stay out of the basement. The other teams in the central improved too much.

I have heard it all for too many years in a row. Each year the start out horrible, finish strong giving us reason for hope and tank again the first half of the next year. And when we get decent acquisition like a Reggie Sanders, who requests to stay and fits what we need, they claim they can't keep him because we are not competitive and they free up capital. Here is the sad, but true truth. The Pirates are making money and fans are going to the park. With this management group, nothing will change. They are making a nice profit, fans are still coming, so they will not gamble and spend any more money to field a stronger team. Yes, our team is better with the youth, but not enough to seriously compete with out another slugger and a top right handed pitcher. Will the new Cuban signee be that right hander? Perhaps, but he still is not proven and has no big league experience.
