Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Tigers just won their second straight game. Robert Fick hit a tenth inning homer last night to win it, today Nate Cornejo had the best day of his young career and tossed a complete game, one run win. Amazing.
The Cornejo performance is uplifting. This is one of those kids the former management team kept pinned their (and my) hopes on. It's almost imperative that he becomes a number one or two starter in the bigs. I'm not sure if he's got that kind of stuff, but today's showing is certainly encouraging.
Weaver just threw his first ever complete game shutout a couple of days ago, Greisinger did fine for his first outing in three years, now Cornejo shows signs of improving. If the Tigers can continue to get that kind of pitching hope may actually resurface around here.
