As I mentioned before my wife is due in april...will be our first one. We didn't check to see boy or girl.

I wanted to ask some of you with experience the most important parenting questions I can think of.

1. How early on should you let your toddler start throwing the curve ball? I have read that it can do damage to a young arm so I am thinking like 3?

2. How do you make sure to steer your child away from soccer?

3. If they do wind up playing soccer what is the best way to convince them they might be a good field goal kicker and should pursue that?

4. What do I say if they ask why I talk to the TV so much?

Thanks.

1) Let em rip ASAP! I don't think it matters.

2) Tell him Soccer is for girls:) Tell her Soccer is for girls as well, girls seem to only want to do what they are not supposed too :)

3) Point out the money, that's a no brainer :)

4) Tell him/her "you'll understand someday"

commenting on number 3...actually soccer players in europe get paid a SHITload of money. so if your kid is really good, he'll get a damn good paycheck.

Yeah, but who wants to live/work in europe when you can live in the U.S.? Besides, he's obviously not a soccer fan :)

Haha, thanks - I especially like the lefty idea! I actually kind of like soccer, it's just like #9 on my list :)

Make sure to teach him to hit from both sides of the plate. That way he won't need to platoon the position.

Speaking of which, I don't recall us learning your team preference(s), Mike.

Good for you!!!! Things like this absolutely should be a surprise! Technology is not always a good thing!!

Teach the kid early on about passion for sports, and how rewarding it can be. :D

Congratulations, Mike!!! Keep up posted! How your wife is feeling good.

I never played soccer as a kid, I wish I did though. One of my favorite sports now...
