This is great for the Cubs. A lot of people were worried he would go with football instead of baseball, but with his signing with the Cubs, he could help our minor league system and be a starter in the bigs eventually.

This guy is never going to be good in the big leagues. So do not get your hopes up a cub fans! He would have been better off going to the NFL where he could have made a lot more money.

you know if the Cubs ever need a guy to run a skinny post or slant, then they have the guy to do it and do it well! :naughty: :D

Other than that, we will see I guess.

no he couldnt have as his draft stock had dropped down to maybe the 4th wide receiver picked probably late 1st, early 2nd round.

He is guaranteed 10 million dollars even if he does break down with an injury. In the NFL he isnt anywhere close to that amount.

one last thought I had on Samarjzia. He could spend the next couple of years with the Cubs and see how things go. Possibly, he could go back to football if his baseball career isn't taking off.

He could not however do the opposite; go into football now and take the beating of a couple of pro football seasons and try to go back to baseball. Especially as a pitcher.
