February 16, 2007 -- This week, NYP TV Sports' Pat Reichart spoke with recently retired Giant Tiki Barber, 31, who this week signed with NBC to do football analysis and be a contributor to the Today show.
Q: You turned down more lucrative offers from other networks to join NBC. Why?
A: NBC, I think, is the premier institution in morning news, and Matt [Lauer] is one of the great broadcasters, and I get to learn from him. Yes, there were better offers, but this gave me the best opportunity for me and my family. This is where I wanted to be. It felt like home.
