I'm hoping for a Celtics win. I'm not having a great week and seeing the C's advance would be some small solace.

Although, someone in Boston (princess), tell Antoine Walker to shut up about being the better team and how the Sixers will get tight facing elimination. Please remind him that this is the C's first playoff series in seven years. At least win a couple of series before opening your mouth. I like the guy, but c'mon. Time to back up your talk Antoine.

Btw, did anyone else notice he passed up a wide open three in the closing minutes Sunday? It was very close, maybe even tied and he just didn't chuck it. He sure didn't look like a guy ready to hit a big shot.

But, Twoin, Pierce, Iverson, and Snow are all on the bench. Early foul trouble? I just switched over from Sox.

I AM FAR TOO :pissed: to discuss this logically. YOU CANNOT TAKE YOUR BEST PLAYER OUT OF THE GAME FOR A WHOLE F*CKING QUARTER AND EXPECT TO WIN!!!!! Excuse me while I go kill the neighborhood stray. :pissed:

Advanced warning: I'm annoyed at the Celtics' performance, so if you are looking for upbeat commentary skip this post.

I'm sorry, but unless Pierce is going to start playing like their best player, the C's aren't going to win Game 5. I thought Pierce was awful all night long. He had the quick sequence late, when he collected seven points, but other than that he was an average player. He hasn't impressed me much in this series at all.

In crunchtime, he forces the action too much. Thus, he commits too many turnovers, hardly looks at a teammate, has poor shot selection and misses too often to be considered a star. Now, he could turn it all around in Game Five, but the Celtics need him to be a superstar, not just think he's one. It's great he wants the ball late in the game, but it's really helpful if you make the shots.

The game is and has been filled with guys who can score twenty or thirty points a game and lose more often than they win. I'd love to see Pierce, and Walker, for that matter, be the exception and focus on winning. Sorry, old Celtic traditions die hard with me.

In Pierce's defense, the Celtics have no interior game whatsoever. Can anyone in green post someone else up? Does anyone move without the ball? Or is watching Pierce and Walker run a pick and roll (twenty feet from the goal, I might add) the only qualification to play for the most storied team in NBA history? How any C's player can get double digit assists ever is beyond me.

Btw, does anyone coach the Celtics? For that matter, is there any coaching at any level. The decision making in these playoffs is horrible. I can stop at any YMCA in the metro area and see this type of play.

Since I'm already rambling, can we please get rid of the three point field goal? The three point line is starting to look like that invisible fence you put up around your yard to keep your dog from straying. Players act like they can't go inside the three point arch. Even on fast breaks, players slam on the brakes, like they will get an electric shock if they run towards the hoop. Take a lay-up you morons. If you could score more than thirty points in a half, I might accept this stupidity. However, as the scores resemble most middle school games, perhaps an easy two point goal might seem appropriate.

I hope the Celtics win this series, but I can't see them going much farther playing like they have. If they can advance playing that type of basketball, then the league is in really bad shape.

PP, I hope for both our sakes, the Celtics do win in your presence.

It is frustrating for us old time Celtics fans to grasp this new style of NBA. The Celts play the way they do because they simply don't have the talent to play the inside game, that the Celts were famous for for 3 decades. I HATE to QUOTE PITINO THE ASS, but quite frankly, BIrd, Mchale and Parrish ain't walking through that door. The reason the Celts are in the playoffs, is because the league sucks.

The Celtics of the 60's thru 86 would have destroyed anyone out there now. The NBA has become a joke.

That said, Pierce is a young guy who NEARLY FRIGGIN WAS STABBED TO DEATH a mere 18 months ago. Him and Walker are NOT disciplined, but they play their hearts out, and will only get better.

We've had a Superbowl Champion, a Hockey team, and a Basketball team that made the post-season for the first time in years. Can we really *****?

Haha, well, YES we can, but you get my point.

Your right the league has really gone down the drain and with the guys who play today (expect to the few who really play) Bird could have taken these Sixers out 1-2-3.

pp, I really like Pierce and Walker, contrary to the tone of my earlier post. They do both play hard, and have enormous talent, but seem to need more coaching than anything. The C's can win the East, if they just play smarter ball.

I do agree with you and Pitino that Bird, Parish and McHale (and Magic) aren't walking in the door, but does that mean passing the ball, moving without it and post-play had to leave with them?

They actually did a better job of passing the ball in Games 1 and 2. 3 and 4 they just chucked up 3's. :pissed: Jim O'Brien is doing an okay job, and, like I said I believe they will grow and mature in time. Pitino was such a disaster to these guys, it's gonna take a bit of time to redo the damage. Patience. Hahaha, queen of patience talking.

You must be happy-Stackhouse finally scored!

I agree Celtics all the way, but if they can't do it I would prefer Philadelphia second as my favorite. Allen Iverson is amazing.
