Adam "Pacman" Jones will sit the whole 2007 season without pay and Chris Henry of Cincinnati will sit for 8 games this season.
About time someone gets tough with some of these punks so that they cant do whatever they want and get a free pass.

Some "Serious" jail time along with these suspensions doesn't sound like a bad idea either, wouldn't you agree?

The only problem with this is the option that Pacman has after 10 games to come back. I understand that it is incentive for him to stay out of trouble while he is suspended but does he really deserve it? And if he needs an incentive should he be given a chance at all?

That's what I thought. Basketball and football are completely different sports but it just seems to me like David Stern handled the whole Ron Artest thing more seriously than this Pacman issue has been handled. I don't know why i get that impression since in the scheme of things Artest was probably out for less of his sport's season than Pacman will be out, but I can't help but feel like Pacman is being given chances he does not deserve.

So we're going to punish them like babies? That's what David Stern does.
You let a real man serve his time, and you let him make the decision. Football, or not?
The commisioner has put the ball in Pacmans court. He told him that it's up to him to get his priorities straight, and that's treating him like a man.

Did he occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, pacman Jones is not acting like a real man?
Since he isn't, why should he be treated as one?

Hey he gets one shot. That's fair. If he does this stuff again the comish is pulling the plug.

wonder how long Tank Johnson will be suspended for? Hell he's in the slammer right now for violating parole. Gotta figure at least 8 games.

I am not sure how I feel about this yet. On one hand, I think that Pacman is an idiot, and something needed to be done before he really hurt himself or somebody else. On the other hand, I really have a problem with the NFL making up a new rule and saying they violated it and are suspended. I haven;t followed it too much, but did Jones even get found guilty of anything yet.

REDSFAN, this is from CBS sportsline:
"Adam "Pacman" Jones of Tennessee was suspended Tuesday for the 2007 NFL season and Chris Henry of Cincinnati received an eight-game suspension - both for numerous violations of the NFL's personal conduct policy.
Jones' off-field conduct has included 10 incidents where he was interviewed by police. The most recent took place in Las Vegas during the NBA All-Star weekend. Las Vegas police have recommended felony and misdemeanor charges against Jones after a fight and shooting at a strip club that paralyzed one man."
He shoots people, for god's sake!
Most of us will lose our jobs for way less than that!

Yes I would........
The little thing he got into in Vegas didnt have anything to do with this suspension also.
And the Comish is the one who suspened him and he would be the one who would hear the appeal also so I dont see him desiding other wise unless Jones becomes a choir boy.

Well, he could always sue or something but I doubt that will happen.
