View Full Version : Same Old Buccos?

So far, they seem like the same old Pirates to me, and I did not expect anything else. One year Jack has a great year, the next it is Sanchez etc. They never seem to have more than one guy (Giles, no Bay) that shows any consistency. Their staff is laced with potential that is yet to be realized (save perhaps Snell who seems to be right where he was at last year if not better). Blown leads, lack of run production etc. etc. Yes they have won 3 in a row again, but against who? The Astros? 8 - 10 with 5 of the wins against the Astro's who are 9 - 10 by the way. I guess that ensures that we will start better than last year (I seem to recall only winning 7 all of last April) but we are going to have to take a few more to make it substantial. AM I overly pessimistic already?

I think you are a little pessimistic right now. It is early. Look at how many players and teams that are starting slow this year. Give it a little more time. I don't think you will win the division this year, but you will make a few runs.

unfortunately i have to agree
same old Buccos
baserunning blunders,mental mistakes
inconsistency
i am hoping experience and potential catch up with them someday
and they are actually competetive

Unfortunately they just do not have the talent to get better. We have pitching that has potential, but other than Bay, we do not have a true impact player. McCutchen (or however you spell it) may be the only on on the rise as well.
