Ichiro to Boston? I would personally love to see Ichiro in Right instead of Drew, your thoughts?

I would love to have Ichiro in Boston...that guy is stellar. That being said, I don't really see it happening. No way would they trade just drew for ichiro...and the amount of talent we'd have to give up might not make it worth it.

I wonder how much we'd have to pay for him though. I imagine the bidding would be fierce, especially since the yankees are probably gonna be looking for another leadoff hitter now that Damon is getting older...I guess i'm just sceptical, but man, Ichiro in boston would be sweet!

Yeah I see what you mean, but if they are going to look at age Ichiro and Damon are very close in age, but your right there will be a bidding war like no other. I could see Boston offering a few young pitchers such as Hanson and Delcarman, along with Lugo :)

first they cant offer anybody because he's a free agent next year and the bidding will indeed be fierce but I see the sweepstakes going down to the Yankees, Red Sox and the Giants..the team is looking to get younger and the team could have the potential to compete with the assumed coming of AROD to San Francisco...Bonds on the way out and Zito and Caine in the rotation..

well according to the news the M's are on the verge of a 5 year extension with Ichiro :(
I kind of figured they would resign him, but I really, really home they dont come to terms

I was sorta hoping the same thing...of course the amount of money we'd have to shell out to get him would be obscene but...Ichiro in boston would just make my year.
sigh

Not gonna happen. Ichiro is staying a Mariner. Probably for a very long time. Quite possibly his whole career over here in the U.S.

The Mariners would be crazy not to resign him. The fans adore him in Seattle.

Ichiro? I'd be happy with Jacoby Ellsbury taking over in right field.

Yeah considering this post was made before Ichiro was resigned, so now just about anything posted in here on this topic is useless because he has been resigned

That would be a good deal for the Red Sox, in my view. But he signed a new deal a few months ago im afraid.
