What do you think are the 3 worst signings in baseball right now?
1. Roger Clemens, even though he is my favorite player of all time I think he is ruining his legacy but whoring himself out and making a mockery of the game of baseball. The Yankee's are going to pay him $28 Million for a few months, IMO that is nuts for a number 3 0r 4 starter that is 44 years old
2. Julio Lugo he is going to get $36 million over 4 years. He is a WELL below average fielder who has the Nomar syndrome and he has trouble planting and throwing the ball. He has some pop in his bat, but nothing special, not to mention Boston needs defense at SS, not offense Boston should have stuck with Alex Gonzalez, they have enough power in that lineup but they are lacking defense.
3. Gary Matthews Jr $50 + Million over 5 year. Gary has only had one really good season and now he is Stud? I will never understand why in the world he is making $50 million dollars. At best he is an average offensive player and an above average defensive player, but not worth millions.

Clemens makes too too much for what he dishes out at his age.

You think those are bad?
$45 million (contract goes until 2008...but don't expect him pitching in 2008)
111 IP
5 Wins
We're talking $9 million a win. $405,000 an inning.
The one and only, CARL PAVANO :loser:

LOL I was thinking about him, but I just dont consider him a PLAYER, because I cant even remember the last time he pitched more than 7 games consecutively. Yeah he right up there with Mo Vaughn going to the Angles

I'd have to say the San Francisco Giants giving Barry Zito a 10 year $126 million contract is pretty lame considering Zito is right now 6-8 with an ERA just under 5..

Mike Hampton, 8 years $121 million: Before the contract 85 wins, since the contract 53 wins
Jason Schmidt, 3 years $47 million: He is out for the rest of the 2007 season.

Considering that Wood and Prior still get top money for being constantly injured, I would rate their contracts as completely worthless.

I know you said baseball contracts, but when I think of bad contracts the Cleveland Cavs come to mind. They signed Shawn Kemp to a 7 year 107 million contract in which he only played for 3, I think. From the time he signed it, he battled weight problems and started to get nagging injuries. They ended up trading him in 2003.

Don't forget another Yank Jason Giambi and my hometown boy Richie Sexson has to be up there along with Jeff Weaver.

Yeah, my jaw is still on the floor with what Weaver got :( I'm willing to bet the Cards are regretting his contract

yah that one. At least they learned they have to spend money to at least have a chance though and he has been pitching extremely well lately.
