So there's two months left in the season, and the Cubs yesterday moved into a tie for first. My question to the board is: Who has the best team right now, and which team to you think is poised for a playoff run that isn't currently holding down a playoff spot?

My picks:
Best team-As I look up and down that lineup and through their starting rotation, I have to say the Detroit Tigers and not only the most talented team, but also the team that addresses and fills the most needs ( with the possible exception of the bullpen). When you have Sheffield, Ordonez, Polanco, Pudge, and Inge batting, and Verlander, Bonderman, and Rogers starting games, you've got a pretty solid team.

Most Poised for a Late Season Playoff Run-Though I would like to believe it's my Mariners after just winning the series against the division leading Angels in exciting fashion, it has to be the surging Yankees. That's just the way my life goes, after all...:eviltongu

Right now I would have to say the Boston Red Sox. They Statistically have the best overall pitching in the game, and their offense is not firing on all cylinders yet, but they are still in first place and have the best record in baseball.

The only problem with the Tigers right now is their bullpen is kind of suffering with a few relievers on the DL, and now Rogers back on the DL
