Well, it's finally happened. All notions of any "feel good" story coming out of the sports world this year have been dashed. After Michael Vick, Tim Donaghy, Barry Bonds, and Chris Benoit, everybody was primmed and ready for Rick Ankiel's one in a million comeback. And now the story has surfaced that he received HGH's from a Florida pharmacy, a story released not just two hours after he hit two more home runs on yet another fantastic day. Also coming through the wire today is news that Troy Glaus received steroids during periods from '03 to '04. What are we to believe in now? :ugh:

What I read is Ankiel never done any PED's that were banned so I still fell good. Even if he had, IMO the playing field is pretty level out there so I would still feel good. Cheating is old as the game, one way or the other.

So, Ankiel had the HGH back in 2003, but it wasn't banned. He can't be punished for it, because it wasn't banned until 2004. It's interesting to see who took it, years ago, but we need to now who is still on the stuff now.

Either way according to Rick they were prescribed. Sweater said it best in the above post.

I'm so tired of hearing about these substances. Let them kill theirselves for all I care.
