Leaving Shea . . . Welcoming Citi

Your thoughts about leaving Shea Stadium and looking ahead to Citi field.

I'm torn. Shea Stadium is as old and decrepit as I am, but it's home.

On the other hand, a new stadium will be nice. I won't have a drip over my head for every game. The bathrooms will be shiny and new. The seats won't be broken, and they'll be roomier. We'll be able to leave our seats yet still see the game from the concourse. So there are pluses.

But on the other hand, this particular stadium will do nothing to honor the history of our team, but rather our ancestors that left town before our team was born. And that's sad. But that's what Fred Wilpon wants.

Shea has been my home for my entire adult life. I will miss her dearly. But I'm willing to give Chiti Field a chance. I guess I'll adapt, the way I adapt to new players and losing old ones.
